Weight Watchers is very liberal with what counts as "exercise". You can earn "activity points" without even trying as long as you don't sit all day.
Here are a few examples...
22 minutes of "moderate effort" housework will earn you 2 activity points or you can work a little longer (30 minutes) doing "low effort" housework and get the same points.
Why don't you do a little gardening? You can also earn 2 points if you mow for 22 minutes. Weeding for that same amount of time will also earn you 2 activity points.
My suggestion...Do a little bit of housekeeping or go outside and enjoy a bit of yard work. You will feel better and your home will look a bit better too!
Weight Watchers brought up "portion control" today. This can be so very important when you are trying to lose weight. Here are some key points that will help many people.
Your fist is about the same size as one cup of fruit or pasta
Your thumb (tip to base) is the size of one ounce of meat or cheese
Your palm (minus fingers) equals three ounces of meat, fish, or poultry
Your cupped hand equals one to two ounces of nuts or pretzels
Tomorrow will start a new posting trend and I will apologize ahead of time right now!
I have been very bad about posting daily here. (I really should keep up on my posts here because it does help to keep me on track at all times.)
I have felt I need some sort of photo or graphic to add interest to each post - but then I realize that the main purpose of this blog is to keep me on track. I hope you will all excuse some of the blandness that may be in some of my daily posts...but the importance will be in the typed message.
I will see you tomorrow!
Can you guess what these three things have in common?
It may be the only time people are happy to see something go down!
I am happy to say that I continue to enjoy a "downward trend" in my weight loss journey!
I took a few moments to see what I did wrong last week - and it looks like the main cause is not enough fruits & vegetables and probably not enough water...so I am packing my meals for tomorrow as soon as I close this blog post.
Moods & Foods: Great mood overall (see my photos that I took and posted in FB) My food is full of veggies today!
...at least according to WeightWatchers is - "It's a phenomenon familiar to most people who've tried to shed excess pounds: You're close to your weight-loss goal, and suddenly the numbers on the scale refuse to budge.
You've hit a weight-loss plateau, and you're wondering what's causing the stall."
Well- I will say that I did not lose weight last week BUT I also did NOT gain any weight. I know what I did wrong and I know how to correct it -so let's see how I do next Sunday!
Moods & Foods: My mood has been good overall the last few days -even though I have been into work every day more than normal...I still love my job!
My food intake has not been the best the last few days..which is reflected by the number on the scale. It is a "wake-up" call for me this week!!
Some of you may ask what this blog title has to do with weight loss.and the answer would be that you will find many community walks that are sponsoring different things.
I suggest you commit to at least one walk this season! What better way to earn some activity points while helping out the community.
Please feel free to join me on Sunday AM to earn some Activity Points! You can sign up here...
I hope to see you there!
Moods & Foods: My mood was good over all - and I was able to stay on point .. the only other thing I can ask for is that I have more folks to walk with on Sunday!!
